Humane Society of Boulder Valley Board Announces New CEO

The Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Lisa Pedersen as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Humane Society of Boulder Valley. The Board of Directors embarked on a national search in March and reviewed several exceptional candidates. The Board conducted extensive interviews with finalists for the position. Lisa impressed the Board with her passion, experience and knowledge of the issues facing the Humane Society and the animal welfare industry. Lisa’s technical and professional skills combined with a strong understanding of this organization, our community and supporters make her uniquely qualified for this position
Lisa brings 12 years of non-profit management experience with an extensive background in fundraising and animal welfare. She joined the Humane Society of Boulder Valley in 1998 and managed the $5.8 million capital campaign for the new facility. During her tenure with the Humane Society she has successfully increased donation support for the organization each year and expanded community awareness of the agency through public relations efforts. She has been an integral part of the development of the strategic plan and vision for the organization, working to achieve the goals set by the Board of Directors. She is a member of the Society of Animal Welfare Administrators and is a Certified Animal Welfare Administrator. She is a member of the board of directors for the Colorado Federation of Animal Welfare Agencies and is Vice President of the board of directors for Community Shares of Colorado.
The Board of Directors has unanimously chosen Lisa Pedersen to lead our organization into the future. Please join us in welcoming our new Chief Executive Officer.
